Irish cultural and community centers that have succeeded in other states have done so largely through the efforts of legions of hard-working and dedicated volunteers. The same will be true here in Minnesota. At the time of the 2000 census, approximately 600,000 Minnesotans indicated that they had at least some Irish or Scots-Irish ancestry. If even 1/100 of 1% of that group is willing to devote a small amount of its collective time, talent and energy to the establishment and operation of the Minnesota Irish Cultural Center, we will be able to accomplish at least as much as any other Irish center that currently exists elsewhere.
